Camp is packed up, and the camper is hitched. Moe is in the car, and I take a last look around.
We are off to Minnesota to set up camp in Lake of the Woods at Zippel Bay State Park. The drive will be long, four hours, with very few services. The small towns are scattered sixty miles apart.
We enter Minnesota crossing the Snake River. The scenery changes with the boundary. More trees of lush green.
We see the sign for the State Park, and a few miles later, we enter. There is no one at the entrance gate. Nancy checks in online. The drive to the campground is long, narrow, and winding. The site is found, very remote. The sites are just crude, small cleared areas with a fire pit and table. Nancy backs the camper into place. It is leveled. We visit the site two down and get to know the family camping for two nights. There are no hookups, water, or electric. We grab a few jug and walk to the water pump. We stop to visit the couple also camping with a t@b teardrop camper
I pump water from the hand pump. Back at the site, I hang a line to dry our sweat-soaked clothes. I believe that it is hotter and muggier here than where we left. It is beginning to get dark. We will drive to the only shower in this campground a mile away. Hopefully, it will cool enough to sleep in comfort tonight.
